Gioia.

For care homes and assisted living

More life in every room.
More time for care.

Gioia (say “JOY-ah”) brings your activity programme, families and a patient voice to the TV in every room or flat. Residents take part more, your team spends less time on questions with no care need, and families see what their parent’s days look like.

Residents are satisfied with their care. What’s missing is what happens between care moments.

39%

of residents rarely or never take part in activities they find worthwhile.1

49%

rarely or never have a personal bond with other residents.1

60–70%

of care home residents live with dementia.2

1%

of the roughly 80,000 rooms in Flemish care homes has an AI system today.3

For your organisation

Four results you can measure in three months.

1

Time back for your team

Gioia answers questions about the day, date and programme, and invites residents personally. That time goes to care.

Measured as: call-bell presses with no care need, before and during the pilot.
2

Residents who take part

A personal invitation instead of a poster in the corridor, with a reminder and someone to collect them.

Measured as: activity participation per resident.
3

Families who trust you

Photos and voice notes reach their parent. The family app shows what they took part in. Fewer anxious calls to the ward.

Measured as: calls from family and family satisfaction.
4

Signals before incidents

A weekly overview per unit shows who is withdrawing or up more at night, so a conversation can come first.

Measured as: follow-ups started from the overview.

For satisfaction we use the questions of the Flemish resident and family survey, so you can compare.

Where it works

One solution, two ways of living.

Care home

Life on the unit

For residents with care needs, including dementia. Gioia works with the unit’s team.

  • On the TV in every room, and on the big lounge screen for chair exercise and quizzes
  • Activity staff plan once; Gioia invites each resident personally
  • At night, a calm voice first, and an alert to the night shift only when needed
  • No camera

Assisted living

Independent, with care close by

For residents living independently in a flat on your site. Gioia works as it does at home, and connects with your on-site coordinator.

  • Reminders, the site’s programme and the family app
  • A reason to come to the shared activities
  • Changes in routine go to your on-site coordinator, with the resident’s consent
  • Optional door, fridge, bed and bathroom sensors

On the ward

Three moments where Gioia makes the difference.

10:15

Maria asks what day it is

For the sixth time this morning. She used to press the call bell for it. Now she asks Gioia, which answers calmly every time: Thursday, and there’s singing at two.

For the team: no call bell for a question that needs no care.
13:45

Jozef no longer comes for coffee

Since his wife died, he stays in his room. Gioia plays his music and invites him personally to the card afternoon: “Marcel will be there too.” The weekly overview shows he’s taking part less.

For the team: spotting withdrawal before it becomes a problem.
03:10

Agnes gets up at night

The bed sensor notices she’s up. Gioia says softly: “It’s night-time, Agnes. You’re in your room.” If she isn’t back in bed after ten minutes, the night shift gets an alert.

For the night shift: an alert only when it’s needed, without a camera.

Examples. Names are made up.

How it works

Your planning, personal in every room.

  1. 1Activity staff plan onceActivities, outings and visits in one web portal, or taken from the planning tool you already use.
  2. 2Gioia invites everyoneAt the right moment, on the TV in the room, in their own language and at their own pace. Whoever says yes is on the list.
  3. 3The team sees what changesA short weekly overview per unit: who took part, who less, who is up more at night. A reason for a conversation, not a diagnosis.

Why Gioia

Fall detection responds to an incident. Gioia works on the days before it.

Alongside your fall detection

Gioia is not a fall-detection system and doesn’t replace one. It works on what comes before: moving, taking part, contact.

No extra screen

No tablet to charge or lose, no robot on the bedside table. Gioia uses the TV that’s already there.

More than a smart speaker

An ordinary voice assistant doesn’t know your planning, your team or the family. Gioia does.

AI with guardrails

Residents can ask anything. Gioia never gives medical advice, never asks for codes or money, and repeats the details before it acts.

Implementation

No IT project. No upfront investment.

Per room, per month

Device, software, updates and support included. Pricing on request.

Existing TV and Wi-Fi

A thin strip under the screen and a flat box behind it. Works with any TV with HDMI.

One training session

For care and activity staff. We install the devices and monitor them remotely.

Privacy handled

No camera. Consent per resident or representative. Processing in the EU. We provide the documents for your GDPR assessment.

Not a medical device

Gioia notices changes in daily routine. It doesn’t diagnose and doesn’t replace your care record, call system or fall detection.

Pilot

Start with one unit.

  • 10 to 15 rooms, 3 months. We install, train the team and follow up.
  • Results agreed upfront. We measure the four results above, before and during the pilot, and review them with your management.
  • Alerts to the night shift by app or text message. Linking to your call system is something we agree together.

Plan a conversation

Tell us briefly who you are, which organisation and how many rooms or flats. We reply within two working days.
