Gioia. Join the pilot

Privacy notice

Last updated 20 October 2026.

This notice explains what happens to the details you give us on this website, mainly when you ask to join the Gioia pilot. The Gioia product has its own privacy terms, which families and their parents see and agree to before a pilot starts.

Who we are

This website is run by [COMPANY NAME, ADDRESS AND COMPANY NUMBER] (“Gioia”, “we”). We decide what happens to your data. For any question about it, write to [CONTACT EMAIL].

What we collect

When you ask to join the pilot, we keep:

We don’t ask for your parent’s name, address or any health information, and please don’t send it to us by email before the pilot starts.

Like any website, our host briefly keeps technical logs (IP address, browser type, the pages requested) to run the site and protect it from abuse.

Why we use it, and on what basis

We use your email only to talk to you about the pilot: to tell you when it starts, to ask a few questions to see whether it suits your family, and to invite you to take part. The legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time by writing to us; this doesn’t affect anything we did before.

The technical logs are kept on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a secure website (Article 6(1)(f)).

We don’t sell your data, share it with advertisers or use it for anything else.

Where it’s stored and who handles it

Sign-ups are stored in a database run by Neon, in Frankfurt, Germany. The website is hosted by Vercel. Both handle the data only on our instructions, under data processing agreements. Both are US companies; where data may be accessed from outside the European Economic Area, this relies on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

We keep your sign-up until the pilot is over, and at most 12 months after we last wrote to you. Then we delete it. If you ask us to delete it sooner, we do.

Cookies and tracking

This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking tools. Fonts and images are served from our own site, not from third parties.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, limit how we use it, or send it to you in a common format. Write to [CONTACT EMAIL] from the address you signed up with, and we’ll reply within one month.

If you think we’ve handled your data wrongly, you can complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority (dataprotectionauthority.be) or to the authority where you live. If you live in California, you have similar rights under California law, and we don’t sell or share personal information.

Changes

If we change this notice, we’ll update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use the email you already gave us, we’ll tell you first.
